What does “aieutics” even mean?
Make it stand out.
The term "maieutic" comes from ancient Greek and means "relating to midwifery" or "childbirth".
Socrates, whose mother was a midwife named Phaenarete,
adapted this concept for intellectual purposes.
Socrates compared his philosophical method to the work of a midwife. Just as a midwife assists in the birth of a child, Socrates' maieutic method helps birth new ideas. Through carefully crafted questions, this method leads to self-discovery and the revelation of knowledge already present in the mind.
Socrates believed true wisdom does not come from being told answers, but from drawing them out through dialogue, questioning, and deep reflection. His maieutic approach was about guiding people to uncover insights, rather than simply providing solutions.
By blending this ancient approach with the power of modern tools and techniques in the age of AI, Aieutics helps clients surface what’s hidden beneath the surface, challenge their own assumptions, and unlock solutions that are both rigorous and deeply personal.
Aieutics embodies this philosophy rooted in the art of drawing out insight and transformation.
